Columbia County Breaks Ground

Project News

PORTAGE, WI - The official groundbreaking ceremony for the Columbia County Building Project took place next to an already bustling construction site on March 16. After being pushed back from its original date of February 3, because of inclement weather; citizens, County Board members, City leaders and business leaders gathered to witness the official start of Columbia County's largest-ever building project. The two buildings being erected at this site are part of a greater project aimed at improving the needs of several County departments. One, two-story, 44,000 square-foot facility will house the Department of Health and Human Services. The other, three-story, 55,350 square-foot facility will serve the County's non-court-related administrative offices. For complete information regarding this project, be sure to visit Columbia County's Building Projects webpage. General Engineering Company has been involved with this historic project by providing Parking Lot, Utility and Stormwater Design, Environmental Services along with permitting.
