This position is responsible for all intermediate functions associated with the creation, design, and maintenance of structural engineering related projects and project plan sets. Familiarity with IBC Codes and construction experience is preferred. All technical work is preformed under moderate direct supervision and is reviewed upon completion.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Employ your knowledge of the latest Revit software systems while using existing drawings, field notes, field surveys, property descriptions, construction notes, aerial images, and electronic file data to develop preliminary and final plans, cross sections, details, and other documents.
- Apply intermediate engineering concepts and company standards while drafting and designing.
- Confer with supervising engineer or project manager regularly to determine and/or clarify project details.
- Create and revise project plan sets as instructed by the supervising engineer or project manager.
- Consult with supervising engineer about any regulations, products specifications and other specifics that may affect the project design.

Requirements
- Education and/or experience: Two-year in Architectural Technology, Civil Engineering, or related field; Minimum 1-2 years of Revit technician experience. Auto CAD experience is preferred, but not required.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

- Direct and monitor other employees in the investigation, development, and review of a variety of engineering projects.

Supervisory Responsibilities
Works independently, while overseeing staff, as necessary, to complete project tasks. Full responsibility/accountability is taken by the senior project engineer for their project.
Requirements
- Education and/or experience: BS in civil engineering, engineering technology, or equivalent with 8+ years experience as a Staff Engineer with demonstrated proficiency in all Municipal Project Engineer responsibilities.
- Must be a licensed Professional Engineer
- Must have experience working with municipalities on a variety of projects.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Perform inspections including, but not limited to: zoning, location of property, footing and foundation, framing, electrical, plumbing, mechanical and other inspections to ensure compliance with local and state building codes and municipal ordinances.
- Inspect all permitted commercial and residential structures by reading and interpreting codes, ordinances and regulations.
- Inspect new commercial and residential structures for code compliance during various phases of construction by driving to the site, instructing contractors and the public regarding codes and regulations, and inspection structures and site for compliance.
- Instruct contractors to make project corrections/modifications and re-inspect sites as necessary.
- Conduct plan reviews of new projects by comparing plans to various codes and regulations, researching codes to resolve discrepancies and informing permit applicants of corrections required before permits can be issued.
- Created and maintain electronic and hard copies of records per GEC standards as necessary.
- Issue permits upon plan approval and maintain files for permits and plans.
- Routinely direct owners, contractors and developers toward compliance.
- Perform occupancy inspections in conjunction with the fire inspectors.
- Occasionally perform inspections of hazardous conditions.
- Receive phone calls and handle questions of a general or technical nature.
- Provide direct input on ordinance/resolution adoption and provide direct input for ordinance updates.
- Follow up on permits over 24 months old.
- Attend municipal meetings as necessary.
- Maintain certifications as required by the State and local governments to carry out inspection duties.
Requirements:
