PORTAGE, WI– General Engineering Company (GEC) is pleased to announce the hiring of Addie Tamboli, Civil Engineering Technician at its Portage Headquarters.
“With a proven track record of building consensus and achieving timely results, I look forward to building upon the 100 years of success stories at GEC.”
At GEC, Tamboli will be providing assistance to the Environmental Division in the areas of Phase I and II environmental reports, underground storage tank site assessments, and brownfield grants. In addition to her environmental role, Addie will also be serving as a civil engineering technician where she will be helping staff in street and utility design, stormwater management plans, and master planning. In October 1999, Tamboli first began working with General Engineering Company. It was in April 2004, when she decided to take time off from her professional career to focus on her young children at home.
Tamboli, who brings a rich background of community understanding and familiarity to GEC, currently serves as Vice-President and Library Trustee for the Portage Public Library, as well as a Plan Commission Member for the City of Portage. Previously, Addie served on several boards and committees within the City of Portage such as City of Portage Common Council, St. Mary’s Catholic Church Capital Campaign, Main Street Portage, Inc., and more.
“Having sat at both sides of the table as both an engineering consultant and as a community representative; I understand the delicate balance between a community’s financial priorities and a developer’s needs and goals. I bring a dynamic understanding to what can be a complex process. With a proven track record of building consensus and achieving timely results, I look forward to building upon the 100 years of success stories at GEC,” says Tamboli.
During Addie’s spare time, she spends time outdoors with her husband and two children where they enjoy hiking, building campfires, and exploring ATV trails. Addie and her family reside in the Portage community and have recently purchased a new home.
