PORTAGE, WI – On Thursday, April 25, 2013, the Municipal Treasurers Association of Wisconsin (MTAW) held its annual conference in Wisconsin Dells, WI at the Wilderness Resort Hotel and Conference Center with special guest presenter, Jessica Fandrich of General Engineering Company.
“Educating municipalities on grants and funding creates long-term benefits for the community.”
-Jessica Fandrich, GEC
Fandrich hosted a presentation which outlined how municipalities can match funding sources to projects, as well as how to increase the odds of receiving a grant. Often times, municipalities are faced with budget shortfalls, causing a shortage of funds that can delay projects, while also causing a rift of other concerns for the municipality such as lack of economic development and growth. By matching up the appropriate funding sources to the project, municipalities are more likely to receive grants that lead to growth and development opportunities.
“Educating municipalities on grants and funding creates long-term benefits for the community,” says Fandrich. The conference was host to a record turnout of almost 250 attendees, filling sessions like Fandrich’s to its full capacity. “Many times, municipalities do not realize there are several grant opportunities available to their community and that is where we can assist,” says Fandrich.
Fandrich brings a vast background of understanding to the GEC team. Carrying over 15 years of experience, Fandrich specializes in grant & funding, accounting and financing, and day-to-day business operations. She has also previously served on numerous boards and committees, where she aided in grant & funding opportunities and initiatives. Today, Fandrich works with municipalities in researching available grant and funding programs and to provide recommendations regarding funding qualifications.
