Multi-Phased Wastewater Treatment Plant Rehabilitation
City of Portage, Municipal Engineering Services, 2010
Portage’s 1980's vintage Wastewater Treatment Facilities required significant rehabilitation but at a price and pace that the City could afford. The initial phase included renovation of the anaerobic digesters and aerated grit chamber in 2005.
The second phase in 2009 involved complete renovation of the RBC biological process. All 16 Rotating Biological Contactors were replaced along with new supplemental aeration. An existing energy inefficient building was replaced with individual RBC covers.
