WISCONSIN DELLS, WI – Easter Seals Camp Wawbeek hosted its annual Fall Sprawl Run/Walk Fundraiser on Saturday, October 6, 2012 in Wisconsin Dells, WI.

“We have a group of dynamic individuals at GEC and to be able to share these powerful strengths with Easter Seals Camp Wawbeek is simply outstanding.”
-Kent Fish, GEC Senior Vice-President

The event, which featured a 5K/10K run, walk, and wheel, was warmly welcomed by dozens of participants Saturday morning. General Engineering Company (GEC) of Portage, long-time friends and avid supporters of the camp, was also in attendance at the event. Many of the firm’s employees, as well as family members and friends participated in the run/walk to show their support for the camp.

GEC Team Runners included Brad Boettcher, Elizabeth Brooks and Forrest Heaney

Over the past couple of years, General Engineering Company and its employees had contributed its time and efforts to construct a boardwalk that features a fire pit and is wheelchair accessible for campers and visitors. Before the boardwalk was constructed, campers who require wheelchairs could not access this scenic area of the Wawbeek woods. “We have a group of dynamic individuals at GEC and to be able to share these powerful strengths with Easter Seals Camp Wawbeek is simply outstanding,” says GEC Vice-President, Kent Fish.

All proceeds raised from the event on Saturday will benefit Easter Seals Camp Wawbeek. Individuals who are interested in learning more about Camp Wawbeek and volunteer opportunities, can contact Ken Saville at (608) 277-8288 x 108 or by e-mail at ksaville@wi.easterseals.com
